Someone is abusing the personal contact form on here to send spam mail, aka advertisements to my in-box. It's my understanding that only current users may access that form, so if someone is registering just to use the form to send ads, you may want to make registration process a bit tougher.

Beware

If this gets too far out of hand, your email address could be flagged as spam mail address, causing legitimate mail from you to be placed in the junk mail folder. In some mail services, a junk mail folder isn't even available, meaning your users would even receive the mail you send them.

We've disabled their personal contact form for now. We seem to be in a battle with spammers at the moment, but we've added a lot of vigorous tools/options to protect everyone.

Let me know if you have any other issues.

A possible solution?

Perhaps making a minimum requirement before anyone can use the personal contact form. Say for instance that a member had to be signed up for at least a month, and have posted at least two posts in the forums that were not deleted by administration. Both posts should not have been posted on the same day.

I've added some features to all of our forms to make it a little more confusing for bots. This should hopefully get rid of them.
