Hey Tim,

Great concept, i will definitely be practicing here, as I can't download anything from work... I will be waiting for updates on the "Intellisense" development, handy for newbies like myself.

*Also, will you be offerring an option for Android/I-Phone consumers of your content? I can login, and access IDE, but have issues when opening the source code file in the "Project Explorer" section on the right half of the screen after opening the IDE. Specifically, I have to double-click on this (*.Java) file in order to access the source code, and i can't "double-click" (two-finger taps, zooms the page) on my phone. Could you place an option (alternate link perhaps) to automatically populate the IDE with code after you select the source file in the explorer?

Hey, Welcome to Compilr!

Hey,

Welcome to Compilr! Glad you are enjoying the service.

At the moment we are working really hard on just the IDE for PCs, but plan on reviewing the functionality on various mobile devices to ensure it works there. It would be killer to access on your iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, or iPad.

Android

The android runns dalvik java byte code witch is different to the java on pc so building android apps would require a dalvik compiler. But i think theres a java emulator incuded on android.

I think we could whip up a dalvik byte code Compiler, just not sure when.

Intellisense "Code Completion", might be more important to everyone, I know it is to me, as well as source control integration and a team system.

Agreed on the iPad

Agreed on the iPad accessibility. This thing would otherwise be a no-go for, say, .net development, but compilr on a browser that fullscreens, paired with a Bluetooth keyboard, and with code stored remotely, makes the platform actually viable.

But I'm running into the same issue of not being able to open the first file and start messing with the code. Otherwise, the IDE looks great. There are bound to be other gotchas throughout the site for iPads, so this is a naive view, but at this point it seems a downright shame to be stopped by something as simple as the lack of an "open" link to open the highlighted file.

As long as everything

As long as everything continues as planned, we should have full support for tablet devices like the Ipad, as well as the ability to run console applications from the browser through javascript. Eventually we'd like to have a simulated window system too, but right now that is just a dream.

Continued Smartphone support

I'm one of those odd people who use my smartphone to keep up with the forums and I notice a few persistent problems.

Please move your feeback link into the top menu as it hides the last three letters while I'm typing into the forums. At the very least make it non-persistant.

Please remove your customer survey as a persistant popup. I have to close it everytime I load a page as it is larger than my screen when I zoom in to type or click a link.
